We have just been informed that the Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil is to visit London. You are invited to attend this event jointly organised by TheCityUK, the Embassy of Brazil in London and the City of London Corporation on Brazil’s Economic Outlook. Dr Alexandre Tombini, the Governor of the Central Bank of Brazil, will speak on Brazil’s monetary policy and financial climate.
Other speakers include:
- The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Roger Gifford
- HE Roberto Jaguaribe, Ambassador of Brazil to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- Gary Campkin, Director, International Strategy, TheCityUK
This is a must attend for companies already working in the region and for those wishing to enter the Brazilian market. It will be an opportunity to hear about current economic developments and raise questions directly with Dr Alexandre Tombini.
Background With growth having resumed after the typical business cycle downturn which took place in 2012, the Brazilian government is eager to boost productivity and competitiveness while also advancing its wide-ranging supply-side agenda. The focus on infrastructure has seen major concessions granted for projects all over the country, especially in the areas of transportation and logistics. There are already indications that investment is recovering, suggesting that the government’s pro-competitiveness reforms are starting to bear fruit. Among the sensible macroeconomic and financial policies maintained over the past few years, keeping inflation close to the target has been one of the Central Bank’s primary objectives.
Attendance is free of charge and by invitation only. The number of individuals registering from a single organisation may be capped to make sure as many companies as possible can attend.
