2 ° Circular – Brazilian Film Festival in London.
FESTIVAL 1pm Circular Festival ‘Brazilian Children & Young Film’ @ Birkbeck University of London ( Malet Street, Bloomsbury, WC1E 7HX) i: info@circularfestival.org
After the success in 2012, Circular Film Festival is here to stay. The second edition will feature movies with special stories, to revive the cultural memory of Brazilian children living in the UK. As the only Brazilian festival of films for children and youths in London, Circular will provide both children and families the opportunity to a close contact with the Brazilian culture through the cinema.
The 2 ° edition of the Circular Festival will present the public with especially catalogued short films for children and youths, showing the lives of Brazilian children and adolescents in different regions of Brazil, with emphasis on their habits, their customs and their varied accents.
All films are spoken in Portuguese with English subtitles. “Our aim is to provide children and adolescents residing outside Brazil with the valuable opportunity to speak and to link to its culture and its roots” says Cristiane Pederiva, the curator of the event. The Circular Festival is thought for the whole family. This year, we will have a session for teenagers from 11 years of age, with the screening of the film “Before the world ends” and a special session for parents with the screening of the documentary ” Death invented – Parental alienation.” This is a unique opportunity to experience the Portuguese language from other children and adolescents as well. Come to laugh, cry and be moved by the films that will touch hearts of all ages. Bring your family and friends to enjoy this amazing event. The Circular Festival is a cultural non-profit event. Tickets can be purchased for a symbolic price of £ 2.50 at the event and selling points.
