For these special November dates though, they present two club shows from Brazil’s hottest rising star Flávia Coelho. Rio-born, Paris-resident, Flávia Coelho draws on the traditions of samba, bossa-nova, and Brazilian melodies. Her agile voice channels the high-octane adventurous spirit of world music legend Manu Chao, and with her red-hot band working in ragga and hip-hop, she creates an uplifting and mischievous mix that takes the new Brazil to the world, delivered with style and an effortlessly free-wheeling confidence. Following last year’s storming headline performance at WOMAD – which saw a 15,000 strong crowd dance to her infectious sounds – she takes to the stage at Ronnie Scott’s for a more intimate performance showcasing music from her current, highly acclaimed album, Bossa Muffin. Expect a hefty dose of Brazilian sunshine!
