Teremos em outubro um evento muito especial!
Minas, Coração do Brasil será um evento multimídia de 8 a 13 de Outubro de 2012, aqui em Londres, com o melhor da arte mineira, romovendo a colaboração e o intercâmbio entre artistas, a comunidade e o público londrino. Este evento será o primeiro de uma série anual.
O objetivo? Mostrar Minas Gerais e sua diversidade nas artes e tradições mineiras; por isso serão apresentados trabalhos de diversos artistas nas áreas de música, gastronomia popular, arte barroca, tradições populares, artesanato, cinema, teatro e literatura.
O evento está sendo organizado por um comitê envolvendo Creative Brazil, King’s College London department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies e King’s Brazil Institute. Gui Tavares, produtor artístico e um dos diretores do Creative Brazil, contou ao Culturart “Minas, Coração do Brasil foi uma ideia proposta inicialmente por mim, a três anos atrás, quando procurei um grupo de Minas com a intenção de divulgar a cultura mineira. Através de eventos encontrei parcerias. O projeto começou com uma coleção de ideias e contatos, tudo baseado na inspiração de explorar a cultura de Minas Gerais. Não gostaria que fosse só a música, pois a riqueza é mais ampla. Não sou mineiro de nascimento, mas de alma. Sempre descreveram minha música como estilo Clube da Esquina”.
A programação está riquíssima, com peça de teatro com Flamingo Feather, palestras sobre Carlos Drumond de Andrade e João Guimarães Rosa, música, comida mineira e exibição de vídeos do Estado. Todas atividades são gratuitas, exceto dia 13 de outubro. Como as vagas são limitadas, é melhor reservar antes. We have in October a very special event.
Minas, Heart of Brazil (Minas, Coração do Brasil) is a multimedia event running from October 8 to October 13 here in London with the best of Mineira art promoting the collaboration and exchange between artists, the community and the public in the capital. This event will be the first of an annual series.
The objective? Demonstrating Minas Gerais and its diversity in the arts and local traditions, and therefore works from diverse artists from the fields of music, cooking, Baroque art, crafts, popular traditions, cinema, theatre and literature will be presented.
This is being organised by a committee envolving Creative Brazil, King’s College London’s department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American studies, and King’s Brazil Institute.
Gui Tavares, art producer and one of the directors of Creative Brazil, tells us that: “Minas, Heart of Brazil was an idea proposed intially by me three years ago when I sought out a group from Minas with the intention of divulging Mineira culture. “Through events I found partners and the project began with a collection of ideas and contacts all based on the inspiration of exploring the culture of Minas Gerais.
“I would not like it if there only music because the richness is much broader.”
Tavereas confesses that: “I am not a Mineiro by birth, but I am by soul. People always describe my music as the ‘Clube da Esquina’ style.”
The programme is very rich, with theatre shows with Flamingo Feather, lectures on poetry reading by Carlos Drumond de Andrade and João Guimarães Rosa, Music, Mineira food and an exhibition of videos of Minas.
