Hey all! I feel like Iam travelling in time writing for the Brazilian News. My two years writing for paper were an incredible experience and I was able to learn all about the Brazilian community in London. I am very happy to return. We aim to pass on useful public information to the community and this column will be specifically dedicated to making you love being connected with London and the Brazilian community.
Weave seen that over the last few years many Brazilians have returned to Brazil, and those that have stayed have become more and more connected. Networks are forming, new businesses have emerged and social networks remain the same. In the last few months, the rise in blogs and Brazilian websites has become clear, with more content being produced. That shows that we as readers can have more choice and better quality media.
I am going to mention some websites and blogs that tell Brazilians about London. The focus of these will be mainly on tourism in London, with city tips and some clichA a?Top Ten Most Visited Placesa and a?The 7 Best Selling Cars in the UKa, etc.
We have selected a variety of websites, the first is elondres.com, which has been online for 10 years. It has diverse content covering London, immigration and work. The site has recently had a makeover and now includes videos of people from the Brazilian community. The site toemlondres.com is focuses on Brazilian adverts, news, curiosities and London tourism, and it is always up to date. Itas worth checking out! I canat forget to mention acheilondres.com, which focuses on London from a tourist perspective but has a plethora of information about parties, gigs and also Brazilian adverts.
Do people remember oilondres.com.br.ASome years ago it had photos and information about parties. Today, the site focuses on courses, services related to visas and accommodation. ASimilarly, we have www.londonhelp4u.co.uk ,which focuses on numerous services and has a media centre with informative videos about getting visas.
Another website that is worth checking out isANinaknow.co.ukA. It is a one-stop-shop for recommendations forAdiverse sources of information and services in the UK. It has a recommendation for everything.EstaAA?oLondres.co.
The websiteAlistabrasil.comAspecialises in adverts of all different categories (services).AI work with Culturart.co.uk, which focuses on democratising information about Brazil in the UK, promoting art, culture and Brazilian events and is for Brazilian and English viewers.
Now if there is something worth reading its blogs! Why are they so good? The spontaneity of their content: both written and visual. The language used is almost spoken, colloquial, allowing the reader to feel closer to the author. Here I will list some successful Brazilian blogs:
praveremlondres.com and thaisemlondres.blogspot.co.uk, which focus totally on London, with curiosities and photos.
We could mention other sites, but there isnat space! Thatas why, I will finish off by mentioning a Brazilian who is lighting up social media: Magrelo. From Goias, previously interviewed by elondres.com (ElondresTv). He makes everyone have fun in front of the screen. He shares his views in a hilarious way on the vblog do Magrelo. When we spoke with him he told us that
a?the focus of vblogdomagreloa is simply a media project that was thought up two years ago, but made a reality one year ago. It aims to be a channel for comedy/information, highlighting the difference between London and Brazila. Speaking about the Brazilian media he said a?The Brazilian media in London is growing stronger and stronger, I know businesses that are heavily investing in media. Realistically, investments in Brazilian vlogs still havenat happened, but when it does, I will be the first paid Brazilian vlogger in London.a
With so many links cited here, you are already in the know! It is worth repeating that the Brazilian News website will be going live soon, so you will have another informative community channel, as this is the newspaper thatas closest to Brazilians in London.
