One of the best things of springtime in London is the possibility of walking again as a flA?neur along the streets. As a local, West Hampstead and Swiss Cottage are one of the most pleasurable walks Iai??i??ve been to for the last three years. Here is where Freud chose to live in exile; the Freud Museum keeps his secular divan. Down the road I can walk till Abbey Road and admire the cautious pedestrians crossing to the Beatle survival studio. Also I can hide myself in one of the innumerous charity shops and dress myself like a diva at a low cost.
One day, I turned left on Finchley Road tube station and found a cosy cafAi??, which reminded me of other cities I lived in.
Remon Coffee (www.remon.co) at 225 Finchley Road, NW3 6LP, brought me back a taste much sweeter than home. I stopped at the glass and saw a coffee grain, not an ordinary one, Santos cafAi??, the city where I left my mom before coming here. Hummm, like an old German ad, ai???coffee is poetryai???. And so I tasted also the French breads, the Sicilian cannoli and arancini, the slice of potato pizza, the green tea.
Remon is not an Italian coffee, nor French, Brazilian or English. It is a Bohemian small place where you can taste quality food all days of the week. The secret, of course, is in the ingredients and the alert eye of the owner, Uri Remon. Remon told me that he wants to transform his cafAi?? in ai???a buzz of artistic people and ideasai???. And his first step towards this decision was to invite Rosana Miracco to show her paintings and videos.
On April 9th, from 6 to 9 pm, Rosana will be at Remon Coffee for the open day to her small exhibition. She will be screening her latest artistic video, ai???Eggsistentialismai???, which is a very interesting performance about maternity and rebirth. She is also showing some of her paintings, an honest immagetic tale and expression of her abstract inner voices. You can get a scent of it on the photos below. I hope to see you there. Entrance is free. Ai??
