A Universe of Bahian Rhytms lands in the UK 2013
Letieres Leite Quintet for live performances, masterclasses and workshops
In collaborative design , training and musical performance , the conductor Bahia Letieres Leite brings the UK concepts and knowledge about the Universe Percussion Baiano ( UPB ) to be shared with various segments of the public Londoner .
The vast universe Percussion Baiano (with its origins and developments ethno – musical ) is the subject of more than 30 years of study and research of the conductor Letieres Leite that wedge that term / concept to introduce him as rich , complex and organized web rhythmic , calling attention to the importance of studying it , systematize it and pass it , thus contributing to its placement on the world stage with the respectability that it is deserved . The project takes place over a period of a week and is divided into segments interconnected – concerts , workshops , lectures and master classes .
The ” Universe Percussion Baiano in the UK “ reveals a continuity in these important processes of developing business initiatives and artistic exchanges between the Bahian music scene and the international market and , specifically , in the development and evolution of the current work of the participants .
The project will provide an important opportunity to bring their innovative work Letieres with UPB for a new market and relevant , considering the high level of interest and activity in London and the UK by Brazilian and African music . It will be the first opportunity to present their work Leitieres training on african -Bahian music in the European market . This training initiative through workshops and master classes represents a significant structural work to stimulate interest, knowledge and acceptance of Bahian and Brazilian music in relevant sectors of the public outside of Brazil .
