Vision comes back to St Andrew’s to raise money for the homeless
Five years ago in October 2008, artist Paulo Tercio experienced a vision whilst attending Sunday mass in St Andrew’s church in Fulham. On November 3, Paulo Tercio will be back at the church with an oil painting he has created from video material recorded in the church back in 2008. Through the exhibition, sponsored by St Andrew’s Fulham and Campbell’s of London, Paulo aspires to share his experience of the vision whilst contributing to St Andrew’s project for the homeless.
“They Are Not Homeless They Are Our Friends” is the philosophy behind the homeless project that not only serves foods at the table “cafe style” but also clothes on average 120 individuals weekly from all over West london every Saturday between 08.00 and13.00. The project has been running for 7 years now and has 12 volunteers. Father Canon Guy Wilkinson, Vicar of St Andrew’s commented: ‘We are delighted that Paulo Tercio will be returning to St Andrew’s to share his vision of the Virgin and Child and that he has decided to use it to help support the homeless. An auction of the original painting is planned and 30 signed copies of limited edition “Giclee” prints of this painting will be available from November 3. All profits will be donated to the St Andrew’s Fulham Homeless Project. To order prints of the Virgin and Child masterpiece please visit the site www.campbellsoflondon.co.uk or call 020 7584 9268.

This picture reminds me a portion of me that can see beyond reality. Its orthodox icon style seems like surreal but concrete. The two faces are God Father at right and the Holy Spirit at left. The Holy Spirit is pouring Grace to the Virgin and to the Child. Child is confident of His mother. Mother is so plain, simple and sincere with her heart always flourishing. That’s my appreciation of the scene. Mauricio Vinhal from Brazil. Nov, 01th, 2013.
