ForrA? Fest 2014
The Brazilian culture is expanding in general and this is not only due to the repercussions of the international Cup. The forro is part of this growth, after all in the United Kingdom, it is already more than 10 years since the first forrozeiros arrived here. Who remembers the first night at the Bar Madrid? We have accompanied this growth since the first Forrofest, in 2011. A partnership of English Julia Samel and two Brazilians: the son of Geraldo Azevedo, Lucas Amorim, and Maicol Cabral, gave birth to the Festival, which this year is already in itai??i??s 4th edition. The great feast will join Brazilians and foreigners in a camp that is just an hour from London, with a football field to the right, Quadra, and a lounge for live music and parking.
Everyone must bring their tents and will have access to a bathroom, unlike other festivals that happen there.
Ai?? The first tents should be installed on Thursday, August 21st, when the preparations are starting to be made by volunteers who form the time ForrA? Family, who expect to receive approximately 300 people. Transport will not be a problem, many go by car and there is a facility to go by train, just 40 minutes from London Bridge. Ai?? Ai?? Ai??
IV Dance Festival is organised by English Julia Samel, since Lucas and Maicol returned to Brazil. The English that spoke with us before in 2011, a few words in Portuguese, now screaming expressions, speaking perfectly.Ai??He tells us that he lived in Brazil two years ago and that whenever he can, goes to visit and dance forro. Lover of forro, promoting nights Forro Family on Saturdays, account:
“I dance always, three times a week but I would like to dance every day if I could … it is a pity that I have to work. I love dancing, I love people and to connect people without making any conversation, the forro is perfect“.
Questioned about how we came up with the idea of organizing a festival of dance in England, Julia Samel explains: “I love festivals, nature, camp, sun, rain and I taught dance in some events but it was not enough. I just thought we needed a festival dedicated to dance, and in the field, where forro can be Solo with full moon.” And so with many lovers of dance, whether it be spread.
In programming: 3 days of the Festival from 22nd to 25th August
A programming is well special! In addition to lessons forro and the live band, the Festival continues to bring many activities, such as belly dance, samba, afoxAi?? and yoga, during the day. ForrA? Classes will be separated between beginners and advanced. This year the Festival, unlike other years, is bringing bands from outside of London, such as Jorge of duck Confit, Leina Leo and speaks Nordestina, who will play live music every day. EOutra novelty for the Festival will be the area focused on food and also other special areas for children, which is free. Cabaret is also part of the programming, where all Forrozeiros can show their talent on stage, be it through a song, declaration of poem, or even a marching with the ball. In addition to all this, the festival features the famous Campfire.
