Manifest-Action is an exhibition of photographs of the demonstrations that took place in Brazil in June 2013. The exhibition will be crowd-funded and crowd-sourced, which means that entries to send photographs are open to the public, and we ask for the financial support of the public to make this exhibition happen. Manifest-Action will take place at Amnesty International in London Shoreditch from the 13th of November 2013. On the opening night, we will also host a discussion with experts on the subject, discussing the manifestations and its consequences.
Brazil is experiencing a moment of radical change and the country went to the streets in June this year, creating one of the largest demonstrations in the country’s history, with around a million people in 322 cities and 22 capitals. Amazing pictures were taken by photographers, journalists and the general public, showing a point of view not always portrayed in the media. Internationally, the demonstrations were covered to a certain extent and given the importance of this movement, Braziliality proposes ‘Manifest-Action, Brazilon the streets’ as an exhibit to give continuation to a productive dialogue in this time of transformation.
Braziliality is an independent art platform project to promote Brazilian artists abroad and international artists that have an artistic dialogue with Brazil, creating a 360o. view of the influence of contemporary Brazilian art and culture worldwide. The art platform works as a collective of artists with over 50 members in the organisation and it promotes artists and arts and culture events since 2008, having presented the work of more than 235 artists from 23 countries in 42 exhibitions in U.K. http://www.braziliality.org/
