What is multiculturalism? The answers are as plural as the sensations that the sound of this word awakes.
London, the most multicultural capital of Europe, home of tradition and culture in its many forms, colors, languages and ways of being. Who lives there or have been through London, know that.
All this happening at the here and now. At the most present. Multicultural competence is the hability to communicate and transmit knowledge.
This results in respect. Respect that is essential for us to preserve our integrity and fill our heart with positive feelings towards the others, the neighbors, our brothers and sisters.
When Marcia Mar, a multifaceted artist began to paint with the seeds of Annatto, she has certainly not calculated how far she could reach. Now her work is on the way to be published in a pilot project named MULTICULTURAL MANIFESTO MOVEMENT MUNDI together with photos and poems of Regina Mester and chronicles of Ligia Braz.
This project was born after an annual event in London, The Brazilian International Press Awards and Focus Brazil Europe and through a happy meeting with energetic and artistic people.
Ligia Braz, always restless and curious, felt the empathy and the relationships between themes and experiences. She envisioned a publication where the best from everyone involved could come to the fore, showing new facets of our own ancestral culture. She dreamed of a rich legacy of love for the common Brazilian roots. She is a journalist and social worker in Germany. During the event she received also mention for her work in literature.
Marcia Mar, won at the night of the event, an award as the best Brazilian artist resident in the UK. With the annatto seeds, which besides the red that means life, it is a symbol for healing properties, and historic rituals, good kitchen, not only in Brazilian culture, but in some other cultures scattered by world. Marcia Mar is also an activist in other areas ans she takes part of many groups, all of them for the common Wealth and the respect among human beings.
Regina Mester, makes poetry with words and with the images captured with her camera. At the MULTICULTURAL MANIFEST MOVIMENT MUNDI, she developed through her own graphic work, all these talents brilliantly. Other authors, arstistas, poets will come along. Roots are steadfastness. Culture magnify human beings. All of this together in one book, or a sequence of books, perpetuates the idea that together we are much better than apart.
And if all this still filling a charitable purpose, it gets even better. In the case of the pilot book and probably the trilogy URUCUM, the great benefit goes to the Society for threatened people, based in Germany. Significant portion of the profits will be transferred to them.
Now we hope you all to read, help, be curious and blow with life this project that can become as multicultural as his name. Let’s manifest together what we do best!
The second writer Karina Martinelli, is already commited in the production of a second book. The first one should be in all specialized stores before July. We count on you!

VERSÃO EM PORTUGUÊS: Viva a multiculturalidade!
O que é a multiculturalidade? As respostas são tão plurais quanto as sensações que se abrigam ao sabor da sonoridade da palavra. Londres, a capital mais multicultural da Europa, abriga tradição e cultura em suas mais variadas formas, cores, línguas, jeitos. Quem mora ou já passou por aqui, sabe. Tudo isso acontecendo no aqui e agora. No presente.
Competência multicultural é competência em comunicação, para transmitir conhecimento. Isso resulta em respeito. O respeito que é fundamental para que possamos preservar a nossa integridade e encher o coração com sentimentos positivos em relação ao próximo, ao vizinho, ao irmão.
Marcia Mar, artista multifacetada, quando começou a pintar com as sementes de Urucum, com certeza não calculou onde poderia chegar. Mas está a caminho da multiculturalidade, agora acompanhada das fotos e poemas de Regina Mester e dos textos de Ligia Braz.
Um projeto piloto, batizado de MANIFESTO MULTICULTURAL MOVIMENTO MUNDI, nasceu do encontro feliz entre pessoas cheias de energia artística, durante um evento em Londres, o Press Awards (Focus Brasil) que acontece anualmente e premia alas atividades de brasileiros no exterior e, neste caso, a Europa.

Ligia Braz, sempre inquieta e curiosa, pressentindo a empatia e as relações entre temas e vivências, idealizou uma publicação, onde o melhor de cada um dos envolvidos viesse a tona, mostrando novas facetas da própria cultura ancestral, num rico legado de amor às raízes brasileiras. Ela é jornalista e assistente social na Alemanha, e durante o evento recebeu uma menção honrosa pelo seu trabalho em literatura.
Márcia Mar, premiada nesta noite como a melhor artista plástica brasileira residente no Reino Unido, com suas sementes de urucum, que além do vermelho vida, ainda tem propriedades curativas, ritualísticas e históricas, é ativista em outras áreas, fazendo parte de muitos agrupamentos, todos visando o bem comum e o respeito entre os seres humanos.
Regina Mester faz poesia com palavras e com imagens captadas numa máquina fotográfica. No projeto, ela consegue desenvolver, através de seu próprio trabalho gráfico, todos estes talentos de forma brilhante.
Outros autores, artistas, poetas e interessados virão. Raízes trazem firmeza. Culturas engrandecem os seres. Tudo isso junto num mesmo livro, ou uma sequência deles, perpetua a idéia que juntos somos muito melhores que separados. E quando tudo isso ainda preenche um objetivo caritativo, fica melhor ainda. No caso do livro piloto e provavelmente da trilogia URUCUM, a grande beneficiada é a Sociedade e prol dos povos ameaçados, com sede na Alemanha. Significativa parte dos lucros será transferida para eles.
O segundo livro, com a escritora Karina Martinelli, já está em produção. O primeiro deverá estar em todas as lojas virtuais especializadas ainda antes de julho.
Só resta, agora, pedir que todos leiam, ajudem, matem suas curiosidades e insuflem com vida um projeto que pode ser tão multicultural quanto seu nome. Vamos manifestar juntos o que temos de melhor!
